Dr. Julie Cantillon is an experienced Catholic school teacher and leader having served as an associate superintendent in the Diocese of San Diego and as the academic dean of the Center for Talented Youth at Johns Hopkins University. Julie currently serves as the vice president for academics and advocacy at ADAC. In her advocacy role, she partners with nonprofit private schools in order to assist them with accessing services through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Julie’s broad experience and training include completing professional learning at the Learning Forward Academy at which her multi-year problem-of-practice focus was on elevating teacher leadership at the diocesan level. Julie holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership Studies degree from the University of San Diego. Julie and her husband are parents to two young boys who attend Catholic school.
Haley Mendes earned her B.A. in Liberal Studies and teaching credential from the University of San Diego. She is CLAD-certified. Haley has been actively involved in the Diocese of San Diego schools her whole life, and she has worked at St. John School for 11 years as a teacher and then Director of Learning Support. Haley had the opportunity to teach in a GATE 3-4 combination classroom and provided several tiers of intervention and enrichment for so many students. Haley enjoys her additional roles as a mentor teacher to induction candidates in the Diocese, being a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Steering Committee, and a Teacher Liaison. At her school site, Haley is a member of the school's Leadership Committee. Haley values time with her family and friends, and appreciates new opportunities to work with other educators.
